SEW‑EURODRIVE confirms compliance with the new EU Machinery Regulation for its first product lines

Effective January 20, 2027, the new EU Machinery Regulation (EU 2023/1230) will become mandatory for manufacturers, distributors, and importers in all EU member states. SEW‑EURODRIVE, a global drive and automation specialist, has now signed its first declarations of conformity in accordance with the new cybersecurity standards. With a selection of drive technology products from the MOVI‑C® automation modular system, the company is sending a clear signal regarding investment and planning security for its customers. For Dr. Hans Krattenmacher, Managing Director Corporate Innovation Mechatronics at SEW-EURODRIVE, who signed the first EU declarations of conformity under the new cybersecurity standards, this step marks an important milestone: “This makes us at SEW‑EURODRIVE among the first providers of drive and automation technology to confirm compliance with the Machinery Regulation more than half a year before the official deadline of January 20, 2027. In the next step, we will integrate uniform security functionfs into all devices in our MOVI‑C® automation modular system that meet the requirements of the Machinery Regulation and the CRA Directive.
